Midland Area Championships
Light winds on Saturday only allowed two of the three scheduled races to be completed. Sunday morning again saw little wind as boats launched but by the start of the first race most boats were on clew three!! Three exciting races took place.

Despite two wins and two seconds by David Wilkins (crewed by Marc van der Pol (NED)) in a borrowed boat, this was not enough for to retain his title as Toby Dale and James Cole also won two races and had two seconds to count but crucially beat David in the last race which was the tie breaker. Third overall were Peter Doran & Richard Phillips who were overnight leader's after two races but in the stronger winds on the Sunday were unable to keep pace with David & Toby.

Travellers Trophy
This was the last of the 7 events with 5 to count towards the Travellers Trophy and was decided on the last day with Toby Dale and James Cole being awarded the Trophy at the prize giving - Full results

AGM
The AGM was held on Saturday 23 October 2004 at Rutland Sailing Club. Stephen Parry (Class Chairman) reported on the year's activities and Richard Phillips (Hon Treasurer) presented accounts. There was much discussion about the programme of events for 2005 which was unable to be finalised until other Fastsail Classes have been consulted further.

Annual Dinner
In a break from tradition the FD Class decided that this year the dinner would be shared with the other classes attending the event.. Osprey, Contender and Laser II. Rutland Sailing Club put on an excellent three course dinner for all the competitors and Dawn Barsley had a special 30th birthday cake which was shared with competitors and supporters.
