BALA SAILING CLUB

The FD fleet enjoyed very close racing during the Long Distance race (Saturday) and Pursuit Race (Sunday) on Lake Bala which were organised by Bala Sailing Club.

The Long distance race was over 3 and a half hours long and consisted of three laps of Lake Bala – a long beat followed by a series of reaches/runs back down the lake which lies in a valley.

Saturday night the fleet congregated in a large pizza restaurant and enjoyed a convivial evening.

Sunday morning saw no wind and the Race officer postponed the start of the Pursuit race by an hour and reduced the length by an hour so as to keep the finish at 2pm. The race was sailed in very light variable winds the Pyes took the lead on the first beat with Lucy & Jamie in hot pursuit and maintained their lead throughout.
