Open National
Championship 2003 Saundersfoot Sailing Club 5 races with one discard, barbeque, EGCM, dinner, competitors hearing, sun, sand, wind (most of the time!) great sailing, close racing, varied courses, 3 women helms. carbon mast - 4th overall, top wooden boat 3rd overall. Buddy system launched successfully. - A fantastic event with more overseas competitors promised for next year. See also www.watersportswales.co.uk |

British Section
Rules |
Carbon Spars At the 2002 British Section AGM it was agreed to continue to allow carbon masts in British Section events until 31 December 2004 and for 2003 onwards this includes the National Championship. Carbon masts need to comply with current rules for measurement but not weight nor position of centre of gravity until such time as IFDCO agrees a rule for carbon spars. NB: carbon booms and carbon spinnaker poles are legal for FD events anywhere in the world. |

Trophies & Champions A list of trophies with winners. If you have any recollection of who won the other trophies or where they might be please contact the FD Class. Travellers Trophy The aim of the Travellers Trophy is to increase participation (see article). Events nominated by you can be counted, 3 FDs must attend one must travel. Email the Coordinator at least 30 days in advance of the event with details of the event. Contents |
Travellers Trophy 2003 The National championship results have been added to the Travellers Trophy giving rise to many changes of position. A total of 16 helms have participated and Toby Dale is winner of the Trophy having beaten the 2003 winner Peter Doran by 7 points. The highest place helm under 25 years old, top woman helm and highest placed new entry was Victoria Parry (6th overall) and top mixed team was Julian & Cathy Bridges (4th overall) |
