The now traditional Easter gathering at Oxford Sailing Club attracted FD sailors from as far as North Wales, Derbyshire, Essex and Kent and Hampshire

Julian & Cathy Bridges sailed two excellent races finishing second overall. Peter Daigneault helmed by Stuart Goodes, a leading UK youth sailor, was electric in the last race finishing close astern of Peter Doran and Richard Phillips who won all three races. Contents

Yachts & Yachting reviews FD
Sue Pelling from Y&Y visited Lee-on-the Solent on 21 April 1998 to sail an FD. The day started with JB, Sue, James Cole, Richard Phillips and Debbie Myers breakfasting at the Bluebird cafe.

Sailing conditions were ideal force 3, small waves on the Solent, tide on the turn and occaisionally the sun attempted to shine!

Debbie Myers took Sarah Pye, the photographer, out in the rescue boat. Sue took to the water with James Cole in  for a test sail “Biggles gets a life”. To provide a comparison JB and Richard Phillips sailed JBs older Mader.

Sue (an experienced B14 sailor) provided excellent competition and was invited to sail in the UK FD Nationals in Weymouth.

Stephen Parry put in brief appearances after sailing was finished; Gordon Kingston provided pre-sail encouragement.

A great morning was had by all rounded off with lunch at the Ship where Hugh Myers found the team looking at the morning's photos, prior to Sue heading back to Essex to write a report for Y&Y (we hope). Contents
