Not many people have the chance to sail an FD single-handed to celebrate their 40th
birthday. Not only did Julian do so but has described how to sail an FD singlehanded
including trapezing and using spinnaker. Click here to see

News on Worlds
A growing number of enquiries are being received from overseas FD sailors
planning to attend the Worlds at Lee. There may be up to 9 teams from USA and 4 from
Australia. Anybody wanting to buy a new FD for the Worlds should look at the IFDCO News
page re the Australian FDs.
To ski or sail?
Whilst Hugh Myers and John Best slipped across to the continent to ski in
January; Peter Doran and Richard Phillips had their first sail for many months to test out
the repaired foot at Oxford. Satisfied that all is OK Peter is off skiing in Sweden and
Richard has been showing the FD flag at Lymington. |

IFDCO has set up an email list. (see IFDCO
website to register).
First 10 Junior sailors to register for Worlds 1999 are offered a travel grant by IFDCO.
Change to Class Rules
IFDCO proposed change to Class rules. "The rule will require to have
sailnumber of the boat in 30mm letters on the transom" See page 5 FD Bulletin Nr143.

Detailed information packs about regattas on FD UK fixture list are available
