Biggles bales out at Bala
John Best was leading the fleet at Bala on 4 July when a gremlin caused the genoa to go
independent (wot no string to tie it back up?!). See report.

Big Fleet at Worlds
8 UK FDs helped swell the fleet to 112 at the Worlds in Den Oever - Netherlands.
21 nations (highest since 1992 when Olympic status was lost) took part in the 5 race
series - too little wind on last day to hold sixth (or seventh!) race. The Dutch had their
first World Champion. The British had their best result since 1992 with Hugh Myers and
Gordon Kingston gaining a remarkable 7th place in the last race sailed. They finished 23rd
overall - Congratulations. Full
results. Contents
