Flying Dutchman Nationals at Whitstable Yacht club
May 29th - 31st

Whitstable is well known for its Oysters and other types of sea food.  It is one of England’s oldest sailing clubs and provides good sailing waters for dinghies and yachts.  It is a small town that has plenty of good places to eat and drink.

Socials

Weather permitting there will be an FD BBQ on the beach on the Saturday and everyone should bring their own meat but there will be salad provided.  Drinks can be bought at the bar in the sailing club.   Then a dinner is being organised for the Sunday evening and menus will be made available to all competitors as soon as possible as well as the cost.  The dinner will cater for all tastes (vegetarian, non seafood eaters etc).  This should give everyone a chance to catch up on their sailing stories!!!

Prize Giving

This will take place after racing on the Monday (time to be confirmed with racing schedule). Mementos will be given for all competitors to take home.  The pairs competition (so successful in Saundersfoot) will run during the event, pairs will be decided after the first race and is designed to encourage crews to talk about their experiences out on the water each day and to pick up any handy tips from each other.  It is a great method for the less experienced to get some advice.

I look forward to seeing you all at Whitstable for some great racing!
