FD Open - Rutland May 2003 |
|
| Keep the boat Flat!! As demonstrated by Toby & James |
|
| Be on the line at the start, last boat gets all the dirty air, boat to leeward powers through and is soon in the lead by sailing boat flatter than windward boat. |

Relaxing after race finished - neither FD is flat, genoa leeches are tighter than mainsail leeches. mainsail leech too open on leading FD, crew of leading FD is trapezing too high. |

Keep the boat level fore and aft in light winds - see the wake caused by transom digging in - crew should be forward of shrouds and helm in front of traveller. |
