As some already might have noticed, melbourne has set up an interesting subsidised transport program together with p&o nedloyd and schenker for all sailors attending the sail melbourne 2004 programme: this includes the flying dutchman worlds: lucky we are.

I do not have all the information yet but as it looks now the transport price including all from the netherlands to melbourne and back drops by means of this subsidies from about 1.000 euro/fd to about 600 euro/fd for all sailors. Not so bad I think!

This includes loading and unloading at our facilities in Oss, as before. I had already contacts with the organisation and this gives the best possibilities for all, e.g. more loading flexibility and containers on the floor for easy loading and unloading.

The price mentioned is a price based purely on real costs without any margin or whatwever. . If costs rise or fall it will be shared among all, but I do not expect much differences.

For loading times I have the following: I want the containers to be in Melbourne at about 18th-20th december. Sailing time is about 4 weeks. The containers need to be in quarantaine (gassification, don´t send your living stock!). All together this means that we have to load the latest the weekend of 8/9 november.

For the foreign FD sailors however we can load allready directly after the gulcher memorial at loosdrecht on 11/12 oktober: loading can eventually take place sunday 12 okt evening (and night!): but take care loading takes time: loading monday 13 okt can be arranged as well. For the dutch sailors I would recommend loading later on in a weekend, because 4 weeks container-detention and demurrage is costing money.

At the moment I have the following boats/teams on my pre-list. I have a request to all: please let me know as soon as possible if you want to travel or not. Booking can be arranged definitively by transferring 100 euro down payment to my account: giro 3784893 F. Nooijen Breda.
