FD SKI CHAMPIONSHIP 2004

The tale of how 2 Swedish sailors and a driver went to Austria for a fantastic weekend

First of all we would like to thank all of the organisers for a wonderful event. We will come back next year !!!

Early Wednesday morning the trip started, first Gothenburg to Vejbystrand where the sailors had to wait for the driver to show up (Kenneth Andersson).

After the usual "Curry-wurst" on the ferry between Denmark and Germany and a quick transit through Germany the Swedish delegation arrived in the usually quiet village Hinterstoder. Two days of preparation prior to the race, was considered to be sufficent ( Next years preparation will be two weeks !!! ).

1 Swedish driver, 1 Swedish skier and a very fast Austrian Skier

A normal day of preparation looked something like this !!

The Swedish team's effort during the race is not to much too brag about. Bengt who normally is placed in the middle of any event he participates in, was placed second last beating only the skipper of SWE 115. There was rumours about an even slower skier but that skier was so slow that he has not finished yet !!!!

Kenneth got a DNF and there is a lot of speculation about what really happened
  • The 3 week old skis where too old ??
  • There was fog ???
  • Too little beer ??
  • Not enough RED BULL VODKA

Anyway Kenneth was so upset about his failure, so he woke the rest of the Swedish delegation at 03:50 the morning after, proclaiming that it was time to go home !!! And that next year there will 2 weeks of preparation. Anyway the car was loaded in record time and Kenneth drove from Hinterstoder to Rostock with an average speed of 147 km/h !!!

Still waiting for Kenneth

Thank You for a great weekend and Kenneth is not driving next year !!!
