Championship Report for AGCM 2004 Warnemunde. Germany.

The Melbourne WC went off well with an excellent turnout from both the number of countries and number of boats. The weather sadly played its part in trying to disrupt the event. A letter of thanks was sent to Sandringham YC.

On return from Melbourne I contacted Austria and explained the situation regarding our possible plans for future Championships:

2005 World Championship  Balatonfoldvar  Hungary September.

2006 World Championships  USA or NZ or Austria,  European Championships

Austria (if WC outside Europe)

2007 World Championship  USA or NZ. European Championships Spain (WC if not USA or NZ).

The 2006/7 fixtures are interdependent and will be confirmed later in 2004.

2004.

WC Warnemunde.

2005

WC Balatonfoldvar, Hungary. September.

2006

WC Proposal from SPYC Florida USA

WC Proposal awaited from NZ.

EC proposal already received from Austria.

I have had interest expressed from Spain to host an event in Mar Menor and have sent out the details and requirements. Await Proposal.

Other items for discussion:

Fee to IFDCO from Host Club ref ISAF requirements for International Status and ability to host WC and CC.

Pre-WC/EC events for sailors who have come considerable distances to get “better value” for their travels.
