Message to FD Worlds 2003 Competitors from Andrew Belford (Secretary FD Class Australia)

To National Secretaries and intending competitors in the 2003 FD Worlds:

The Australian FD Association looks forward to seeing you in Melbourne for the World Championship.

1) As advised the containers that your boats will be shipped in will be stored securely at the Ronstan premises, approximately 4km from Sandringham Yacht Club. The Club and the Australian FD sailors will transport boats from Ronstan to the Yacht Club prior to the series.

Access to the containers will be limited during the championship, so all

of your equipment must be transferred with the boats and will be kept at

Sandringham Yacht Club for the duration of the series, rather than left

in the containers. To help with the job of transferring your boat and

equipment, could you please ensure that all equipment and items sent in

the containers are packed in the boats rather than spread throughout the container, and are clearly marked with the name and contact details of

the skipper. If any equipment is not able to be packed in your boat,

please ensure that the equipment is boldly marked with your name and

boat's sail number.

2) There have been some problems with the Sail Melbourne internet address. The correct address is : www.sailmelbourne.com.au

3) Australian FD Association president David Ham has had a computer virus, and some emails may have gone unanswered. Please also address any queries about the Worlds to myself ( afu@bigpond.com ).

I wish you a good trip to Australia and hope to meet up with you all in Melbourne.

could you please pass this on to any sailors coming to Melbourne.

Regards,

Andrew Belford

Secretary,

International Flying Dutchman Class Association (Australia)
