UPDATE to RULE CHANGES - 10 August 2004

Due to lack of time at the IFDCO AGCM in Warnemunde, the scoring systen for 2004 has not yet been agreed. It is planned to produce results using both the old and the new rules/scoring system.

It has been decided that National Secretaries are responsible for ensuring the results of regattas are submitted to the Ranking List Registrar.

Each National Secretary should submit the results of regattas as soon as possible after each event and must notify the Registrar by 31 December which 6 national events shall be included in the current year Dawes Trophy results.

CHANGES TO RULES FOR 2004
With effect from 1 January 2004 the Dawes Trophy rules are being changed as follows:

1 A qualifying event is any event in which 3 scheduled races and 2 races were sailed and is either an International event or an event nominated by the National FD Class Association.

2 World &  Continental Championships and any event at which 4 or more nations normally participate will be deemed an International event.

3 Each Nation may nominate a further 6 events

4 There is no minimum entry requirement

5 The scoring system is being changed to put more emphasis on the results of World & Continental Championships, to eliminate the quality factor and to increase the differential between finishing positions.

The new scoring system will be published as soon as the details have been agreed. (25 January 2005)
