Dear Friends,
All of you just got the last FD Bulletin n° 157 , just edited by our V.P. Communications , Ronald Stalman .
2012 is nearing. A new season. European Championships at Altea , on next April , followed by the Vintage Yachting Games at Lake Como on next July .
…. And finally, the World Championship at Santa Cruz on next September .
Anyway, please you can register for all of these events by using the entry forms already published since two months on the old website .
In 2012 will be also the 60th anniversary of our beloved dinghy: the Flying Dutchman ; the 60° Anniversary will be celebrated during the European Championship in Altea ; so, it will be very important to collect a great FD fleet to join together in Spain.
Anyway, we’ll up-date you on everything in detail on next January 2012 .
Furthermore, we ‘ll be able to give you detailed information with regard to the shipping of the Containers to Santa Cruz.
But ...... there’s one more thing.
You see this homepage stripped of, almost, everything.
From our V.P. Communications I did not get much space for a long story.
I can tell you why ! Because he and his friend have put up a brand new website.
And as they agreed on to have this brand new show up and running for introduction at the European Championship 2012 .
They already are testing and working on it out in the open.
There is still a lot of work for them to do, mainly content-wise.
But the event section is up and running so they prefer to use that straight away. So they don’t have to do that job all over twice , in just a few weeks time.
Since not all the contents are transferred yet until the end of the host-contract the old website will stay there for such a purpose .
With the new web-site in place there’s also a big change .
www.sailfd.org will become www.sailifdco.com.
(we ’ll put the link here) !!
Many thanks to the website team Immo Haagsma and Ronald Stalman.
It’s our start to celebrate the 60th anniversary and also our start in restructuring as we will communicate more easy with you.
Finally I thank all of you for your engagement in the FD Class life , and I wish you and your families , Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2012.
….. the sailing season 2012 will be a wonderful chance to join together to sail by FD , again , and I ‘m looking forward to meeting you, soon.
Cheers,
Alberto
